Apple handled that pretty well, wouldn’t you say so? Steve Jobs immediately made it clear, through the use of hard numbers, that the antenna issue is something people have blown way out of proportion. I agree with him on that front; people will milk the smallest little thing for all that it’s worth now that Apple has had so much success.

He also made it clear that signal loss on contact is a problem every smartphone has, and the demonstrations were believable. I still feel that the iPhone 4 is more sensitive in this way than most other phones, but at the same time I know that it isn’t a fundamental problem that must be fixed at all costs. Many “experts” have said that by now, but you saw Apple’s numbers: only a microscopic amount of users are complaining.

But Apple loves its customers and wants to make them happy, so what better way to do so than to give a free case to all that want one? I can already hear the cries of the haters subsiding.
